1首先这句话考的动词短语是basesth。on(upon)sth。以某事物为另一事物的根据。后半句话是说,我们需要有事实知识作为我们思考的根据,即Ourthinkingbasesonfactualknowledge。
如果factualknowledge用which代替,就是 r引导的原因状语从句中,factualknowledge在前,相应的onwhich就紧跟其后做同位语。 onwhich和tobase构成动宾关系。
