As everybody knows, China’s school system and education system are quite different from that of the USA。
In the USA, during the senior high school time students can study all kinds of things, such as art, basketball, football and so on, in total everything they like。
And the school will set up varieties of activities students can join in to develop all kinds of abilities of their own, such as social skills, public speaking and so on。
And I know that in America, senior high school students will have a test before their graduation。
Through this exam, students will get their points of their major subjects and elective subjects。
By this, students can choose the universities they want to study in if they have enough points to choose that school。
Enter universities is easier than graduate from the collage。 This method makes sure every student who wants to get a collage diploma study hard。
And this leads to all students learn the real things not just for the exam but also for the requirement of the company and society。
I think that’s why the economy of the USA is so strong。 。But in China things are quite different。
Not only in the education system but also in the school system。 In the senior high school, what students just have to do are study。
For example, I’m a student studying liberal art, including politics, geography, and history。 Also I have to study Chinese, Math and English。
So what I have to do is study these six subjects day and night without caring about other things。
No playing basketball, no listening to music, no take a part in the sports meeting。 If you do these, your teacher and parents will say: “are you crazy? Look, what are you doing? You have waste a lot of time。
” And the most important thing is that have a high score in the University Entrance Examination。
But after that, look at the students’ deeds。 What are they doing? Watch the films and soap opera everyday, playing computer games。
No cooking for their parents, no doing housework。The standard to judge a student is good or not is just his/her test paper scores。
And do you know what will the scores bring to him/her? Let me tell you。 I remember that while I was in the primary school, the monitor of mine class is choose in this way who has the highest scores in the class is the monitor。
No election, the teacher will let him be。 This kind of phenomenon also happens in the junior high school and senior high school。
To make things worse, not only elect monitor but also other things which related to University Entrance Exam happen in the school work in this way。
I think that’s why a lot of students in China can make a really high scores in exams。 But when you ask them to put what they write on the text paper into practice, they can’t do what they say。
When you give them a program need using hands, it’s rather difficult for them。 And that’s the people always say :”a person can make a high score but rather feebleminded”。
Maybe a lot of Chinese students studying abroad in the Stanford University face the same situation。
I know that foreign Universities are quite different from that of China。 Its aim is to train men for profession and to train men those who can adapt the changes in the 21st century。
And its aim is to educate students to adjust the requirement of companies, corporations and society。
Not a man who can just work out a mathematical problem。收起
