It funny how Chinese people think pronounciation must be 标准 (assuming it means standard the way it's interpreted in English)。

Most native English-speakers speak out the quaintest variants of pronounciation in their daily life; yet no one claims (well, not nowadays anymore, not in their right mind) their English would be inferior somehow。
Accents are another thing, perhaps, but a clear and communicative accent is better that mumbled one, be it how ever "standard"。
This is basic rhetorics: to be able to talk slowly and clearly enough, to articulate with precision and care。
I'm tempted to quote the legend of Demosthenes, a famous Greek orator (public speaker) born 384 BC: that gives you inspiration ^__^。
