1。generation gap (代沟)
Generation gap is said to be omnipresent between generations of all ages。
The typical manifestation is the mutual unsatisfaction or even dislike between the elder generation and the younger one。
In the glossary of the elder generation, the youth are often labelled as impolite, careless and having no sense of responsibility。
While in the eyes of the youth, the elder generation is a conglomeration of stubborn, conservative and sometimes queer people。
Besides, the term generation gap is frequently used as an excuse for not opening your heart and communicating with others。
Parents imposing their wishes on their children often say that the children's resistence is nothing but a sigh of generation gap。
And children refusing to confide to their parents often say that they only behave like this out of generation gap。
Therefore, generational gap is not as serious as a kind of disease, but can be overcomed, so long as people of different generations are open-minded enough and ready to hear and make themselves understood。
Let jump across the gap between generations and join hands with our parents, our children and our compatriots to form a nice homeland for everyone。
2。Is the first impression upper most?(第一印象重要吗)
First impression is of great importance。
In this globe, there more than 6 billion people living in no less than 200 countries。 It is by slim chance that people can meet one another。
So long as you would like to leave a nice impression to others, you must pay strict attention to your behavior, posture and the way you talk at the first meeting。
Otherwise, you may not get a second chance to meet again somebody whom you'd very much like to meet。
We tend to judge somebody else by our first impression about him。 He may be clever or dumb, humorous or boring, neat or dirty, punctual or careless。
And at the drop of a hat, we have put somebody into certain category, and will hardly ever change our mind again。
We should always bear in mind that the first impression oftern determines others' attitude towards us and should never be neglected。
3。How to fight against AIDS? (怎么对付爱滋)
AIDS is the abbreviation of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome。
From the word "syndrome", we can clearly see that AIDS is an illness or malady, not a sin or crime。
People often look down upon those suffering with AIDS。 The patients are deemed as eerie monsters or amoral bastards deserving their suffering。
This kind of mistaken bias not only hurts the HIV carriers greatly, but also hampers our fighting against the disease。
To fight AIDS, first and foremost, we should part with the bias and discrimination toward the patients。
Secondly, we should pay strict attention to our own behavior in order to protect us from the virus。
Thirdly, the society should form a friendly atmosphere for the HIV carriers and provide them with the necessary medicine or treatment, so as to keep the spreading of the illness。
By the mutual effort of our whole society, difficult though it might be, fighting AIDS will be successful in the future。
