1。这两个连词的意义基本相同，都作“虽然”或“虽则”讲，一般并可通用；但也不能说两者并无区别：前者以用于陈述的让步从句较宜，而后者则以用于虚拟的让步从句较宜。
比较：Jack was not satisfied，although he made great progress．
虽然大有进步，杰克还是不满足。 （不说Jack would not be satisfied…）
Jack would not be satisfied，though he made great progress．
即使大有进步，杰克还是不满足。 （不说 Jack was not sat- isfied…）

至于词序，前者在句中的词序要比后者固定；就是说，前者不能移置，而后者可以。
比较：Although he is young，that son of yours studies very hard．你的那个儿子虽然年纪小，却非常用功。
（不说Young although he is…）
Young though he is，that son of yours studies very hard．你的那个儿子虽然年纪小，却非常用功。
（＝Though he is young…）
Though he was rich，he was very unhappy．他虽然富有，却并不幸福。（这里可以改用although）
Rich though he was，he was very unhappy．他虽然富有，却并不幸福。
（这里却不能改用although）

1）although 比though的语气要坚定，主要用于正式语言中
2）although不与even或as连用，但我们说even though，as though
等于even if, as if
3）although后只接句子
though后可接形容词
