The 6-valence Cr is of great toxic and can be easily absorbed by human body and be accumulated inside, which would cause sickness and even cancer。
Thus, chromium-contained water is considered as one of the most serious environmental pollution。
It has been listed as a major task by the National Environment Protection Bureau(?not sure about the name), and it's very much meaningful for environment protection and human hygene to separate chromium from so-contained water。

Currently there're 2 major methods to tackle the CrVI-contained water: a)the reduction system, however, it emerges massive polluted earth while proceding and causes re-pollution easily; b)direct CrVI treatment, among them the ion exchange system is of high effeciency and the re-produce can be reusable, and therefore the system is popularily interested[1-7]。
This article discusses about the CrVI adsorption capability of the XSD-296 resin and the result indicates that it's practically appliable to use XSD-296 resin to tackle CrVI-contained water with the advantages of low cost, simple process, huge absorption volume and easy de-absorption。
Infra spectrum analysis shows that matching chemical compound(? not sure about this name) is generated during ion exchange process。
