[分词用法]分词作原因状语。一个句子不太懂

Then the harpoon was ready and the man in the bow of the boat aimed it at the whale。 He let it go and the harpoon hit the spot。(Being badly wounded),the whale soon died。
我问老师为什么括号内不能直接说 Badly wounded 老师说这是原因状语不能省略Being 但是我还是不太懂麻烦大家详细解释一下。

    实际上， Badly wounded是对的。还原成原因状语从句是：As it was badly wounded, the whale soon died。 = Badly wounded, the whale soon died。
   在现在的高考中，Being badly wounded算是个错误选项，正确答案应该是:Badly wounded, 然而在某些语法书上，也写成：Being badly wounded。  如果要是正规考试，还是要选择Badly wounded。
   例句：Born in the village (= As he was born in the village), he translated the article without much difficulty。
     此句中最后不要写成Being born in ----。。

There can be different expressions for one sentence,I think your suggestion is valid。 But bad luck if you are still a student and your teacher say no。
When one day you become teacher, hope you teach your students properly。
